‘I’ve found wise books but never such
As could teach me a single word
To set by what my childhood heard’.
Thomas MacDonagh wrote fondly of the people and places of Cloughjordan, the place where he was born and attended school. With his friends he roamed the fields, bogs and woodlands of this area ‘in calm of middle country’.
Come and visit the Thomas MacDonagh Centre based in a former home of the MacDonagh Family, on Main Street, Cloughjordan, Co. Tipperary (M7 Exit 23 at Moneygall).
